ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY

Thank you for visiting the Privacy Policy page of Alanté Corporation, Alanté Europe, and Alanté Europe n.v. (collectively "Alanté").  Alanté values your right of privacy, and wants you to feel comfortable using its website at http://www.alante.com (the "Alanté Website" or "Website").  By using and/or visiting the Alanté Website, you signify your assent to the terms of this Privacy Policy, which was last updated on November 9, 2004.

1.  Alanté Website.  This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Alanté Website, which may contain links to third party websites that are not owned or controlled by Alanté.  Alanté has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party website.  Alanté will not and cannot censor or edit the content of any third party site.  By using the Website, you relieve Alanté from any and all liability arising from your use of any third party website. 

2.  What Type of Information Do We Collect?  When you visit the Alanté Website, we may collect passive information about your visit.  Passive information is any form of aggregate data, navigational data, tracking data, click-stream data, or historical data, which does not on its own personally identify you.  We may also collect the following personally identifiable information should you voluntarily submit it to Alanté, through the Alanté Website or otherwise: your first and last name, your company name, your home, company or other physical address, your email address, your telephone number, and credit card information (if provided in connection with a specific transaction).  Alanté provides you with the ability to "opt-out" of certain uses of such personally identifiable information.

3.  Maintenance & Opt-Out Of Information.  If you wish to change your personally identifiable information, or wish to opt-out of our use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information, other than as expressly permitted in this Privacy Policy, please contact us in writing through one of the following means:

4.  How Do We Use Or Share Information?  Alanté respects your privacy, and will not use or share your personally identifiable information except for the following purposes:

• to communicate directly with you in connection with specific transactions;
• to send you periodic updates or commercial email unless you have opted out of such use;
• to validate credit card numbers;
• to comply with a lawful subpoena or court order;
• to remedy any violation or breach of an agreement between you and Alanté; or
• to prevent harm to the property or rights of Alanté or its customers.

Alanté may also use and share limited information with third party agents for billing and shipping purposes in connection with a transaction specifically authorized by you.  If you have "opted-out" of our use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information, Alanté will use such information for no other purposes. 

5.  Aggregate Information.  Alanté may share aggregate statistical information with business partners, sponsors or other third parties, but none of them receive personally identifiable information.  For example, we may disclose that X number of visitors visited a certain area on a website, but we would not disclose anything that uniquely identifies those individuals.

6.  Unsolicited Emails Received by You.  Alanté endeavors not to send unsolicited bulk email to anyone who has opted out of their receipt.  If you have inadvertently received one of our emails after opting out, or if you simply wish to stop receiving them, please follow the instructions contained in the email or send a request to be unsubscribed to privacy@alante.com. 

7.  Cookies.  We may use "cookies" to enhance your experience with the Website.  If enabled in your browser, cookies may store small amounts of data that enable us to customize our content according to your preferences.  We may use cookies to: (i) keep count of your return visits to the Website; (ii) accumulate anonymous, aggregate, statistical information on website usage; (iii) deliver content specific to your interests or past viewing history; and (iv) save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our Website.  Cookies tell us nothing about you personally, unless you specifically give us additional information.  You can also disable cookies by modifying your browser preferences. 

8.  Security.  Some pages of the Alanté Website may use security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of information that is transmitted through the Website.  These pages use Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") connections with at least 128-bit encryption for certain transactions and confidential data.  Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  As a result, while we strive to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit, and you do so at your own risk.  

9.  Children's Online Privacy Protection.  The Alanté Website complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA).  Alanté does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.  It is possible that by fraud or deception we may receive information pertaining to children under 13.  If we are notified of this, as soon as we verify the information, we will immediately obtain parental consent or otherwise delete the information from our servers.  If you want to notify us of our receipt of information by children under 13, please do so by emailing us at privacy@alante.com.

10.  Changes To This Policy.  This Privacy Policy may evolve as our business changes over time.  Should our Policy change, we will immediately publish the amended Policy on the Alanté Website.  Accordingly, we recommend that you check our Website frequently to view recent changes or updates. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
